I've been busy...

Oh, my!!  My hubby's been retired and home for a month, and we have been going through EVERYTHING!!!!!!  We have a giant "pile" of goodies for a garage sale this spring, and that's just cleaning out the lower level.  We haven't even started on bedroom closets, chest of drawers, etc.  That will be a fall garage sale, for sure.
Anyway, it's been going well (so far).
I did get to see my family a couple of weeks ago, and gave my nephew the sweater for his soon-to-be-born daughter.  She's due in a couple of weeks!!!
working on 3 blankets; so of course, it's slow going, but I'll eventually get them done.  AND, I still have 3 cupcake hats to finish...so much to do, so little waking hours...

MARDI GRAS!!

Yes, today is the last day to indulge, before Lenten season. I got a wild hair, and decided to crochet some wrist warmers for the occasion!!! Looked through my yarn stash, and lo and behold, found the colors needed. Enjoy!!!

A new sewing venture

Well, since I woke up at 3 AM, I decided to cut out and make a circular needle clutch. I found the pattern at www.craftleftovers.com they have a lot of free patterns for straight and circular needles.

Thank goodness you can't see my sewmanship too well. I was making this for a friend, but decided to keep it and make hers "better" as in getting the bias tape on nicer.

anyway, it was a way to kill time, and play with my sewing machine, AND I even got to make a button hole with it. EASY!!!!!

I can't help myself!!

Waiting for hubby to call (if he's not working, I'm taking a road trip), need to be working on the baby blanket, but HAD to post this first.

I saw these little pins in the yarn shop, and thought "I can do that". Oh my, my imagination gets me into trouble. Anyway, here it is. I used size 3 needles, some leftover sock yarn; knit a few rows,then placed it on toothpicks; found some beads; did a little gluing, and Presto!! A cute little pin. All I need now is a coilless safety pin.

10 down; 3 to go...for now

Okay, I've gotten myself into a pickle. I have over-extended myself for sure!!! Requests for the cupcake hat have EXPLODED!!!! I've made 10, and have 3 more to go!!!! It's a good thing my husband doesn't care (too much) that I sit and knit for the better part of each day!!! It's also a good thing he likes to cook. I'm going to keep him around!!!

Be careful what you "show off"

Okay, I made that cute cupcake hat, took it to church, and got 2 orders. I should have learned, but no.... took it to work and got 3 more orders!!! So far, I have made 2 hats, with a pink top, and have 2 white ones to make. Oh my, next time, I'll have to think twice or three times before i take something "cute" to show to others!!!
Boy, do my fingers hurt!!!
