Enjoy!!!
I love to knit, crochet, and now, thanks to winning a sewing machine, a renewed interest in sewing.

Wonderful!!!!!
First, I finally found some foam mats that fit together so I can FINALLY block myshawls. Of course, having them and doing them are two different things!!!
Okay, now for the wonderful part!! Friends in Columbia were making the cutest hoodies, so I got the booklet, "Wonderful Wallabys". It has a pattern that can be made for children through adult.
From Cottage Creations, purchased at Hillcreek Yarn Shoppe.
Adding the pouch was a new adventure. It's not perfect, but this is my practice hoodie.
Now, I am halfway through the sleeves. After finding my rhythm, and the "good" way to hold the needles, they are moving along faster than when I started.
Sorry it's sideways. It's "normal" in my pictures folder, but you get the idea.
I hope I have enough to actually put a hood on this thing. If not, it's okay, I'm learning a lot just doing this part. The neck opening is a placket, so no need for I-cord!!!!!
I'll bring it Wednesday.
The only sewing will be six stitches under each arm.
Having fun on this horribly hot afternoon!!!!

Purse update
Purses are done!!! I-cords are done!! (My husband says I cheated because I used the I-cord knitting machine; but I would have been knitting 180 inches of I-cord until the next millenium). I found a web site that explained the Chinese good luck knot; they are done. One leaf is finished; seven to go. I found I am going to have to make the leaves separately, then "graft" them on the end of the I-cord. I tried what the directions say, but they were inside-out.
Stay tuned for the finished products!!!!

Purse crazy!!
Well, I ran out of yarn on the first purse (off to Hillcreek Thursday), so I frogged my cheap imitation of the purse (that would have been a cute cap) and started another one.
I'm almost out of yarn on purse #2, so I hope Hillcreek has the same yarn or I may get a color that complements the green.
Am I nuts or what????

A Dream Come True
Several months ago, Dianna brought a "too awesome for words" purse that her "daughter" Michelle had given her, made by her grandmother. I was so intrigued at its beauty!!
I searched and searched, to no avail, for the pattern.
THEN, I received an email that changed my life!!! Dianna had found the pattern on Ravelry, named "Purse with Leaves". I was in heaven!!!!!
I purchased the "yarn" at Hillcreek. It is ON Line Linie 255 Toledo Color. It is perfect for this project. DAY 1:
DAY 2 and 3:
Today:
The leaves are done!!! Alas, I am going to have to break down and get a 3rd ball of this beautiful yarn to finish the bottom and to make the I-cords. So, this creation will be on hold for a bit.
The pictures don't do the color changes justice!!!

Babies, baby!!
I was asked to help a friend make baby items for a charity basket to be given to Samaritan Center. I made the hat and booties. What fun!!! The hat is a lacy hat, and the booties are Saartje's Bootees.
It only took two days, and I may have to make more!!!
